Over summer 2019/20, bushfires swept across Australia, devastating large areas of the country and blanketing cities in smoke. In the middle of the unprecedented natural disaster, rumours swirled online an arson emergency was behind the crisis.

This video was produced alongside the Guardian Australia video team for its new Tik Tok account. With a bit of art and craft work we produced this 60 second explainer video on the bushfire crisis and misinformation spread.
